Cochem Boat Season 2027: Dates, Fares & Planning

Two companies run the boats in Cochem. KD (Koeln-Duesseldorfer) sails only the one-hour panoramic loop and an evening cruise. Kolb runs everything else: its own one-hour loop, the lock cruise to Beilstein and the long day trips.

As of 29 October 2026, KD's 2027 dates are on its website and Kolb's are not. This post sets out what is confirmed, uses Kolb's 2026 timetable as the best guide, and flags what can still change.

The quick answer

KD's panoramic cruise runs from 27 March to 17 October 2027, Tuesday to Sunday, and its page lists 14 EUR for adults. Kolb has not published 2027 yet. In 2026 it sailed daily over Easter, at weekends in April and daily from late April or 1 May to 31 October. Easter Sunday 2027 falls on 28 March, so expect both companies on the water that weekend.

When does the 2027 boat season start and end in Cochem?

KD sails from 27 March to 17 October 2027. Kolb's dates are not published, but on its 2026 pattern it starts at Easter and runs daily from about May to 31 October.

KD's Cochem panorama page already shows the next season: 27 March to 17 October 2027, Tuesday to Sunday, up to six departures a day at 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30 and 18:00. No boats on Mondays. Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027, so KD's opening day is Easter Saturday.

Kolb works in a steady rhythm. In 2026 its one-hour round trip ran daily over Easter, at weekends in April and daily from 27 April to 31 October, with March "on request". The lock cruise to Beilstein followed the same shape, daily from 1 May. If Kolb repeats it in 2027, Easter (26 to 29 March) will be the first daily run and April will be weekends only.

How much will Cochem boat trips cost in 2027?

KD's page lists 14 EUR for adults on the one-hour cruise under its 2027 programme. Kolb has no 2027 prices yet; in 2026 the lock cruise was 20 EUR at the kiosk.

KD shows 14 EUR for adults, 12 EUR for children, school pupils and students, 11.20 EUR for seniors and 41 EUR for a family of two adults and two children. Those match 2026. KD has not opened sales, so treat them as the likely 2027 fare, not a promise.

Kolb does not publish a price list. The lock cruise to Beilstein was listed at 20 EUR for adults and 10 EUR for children aged 4 to 14 in 2026, and Kolb gives half price to children 4 to 14 and free travel to under-4s with an adult. Online prices run higher than the kiosk: you pay for a fixed slot and free cancellation. Our price guide lays out both.

When can you book 2027 boat trips from Cochem?

Not yet with KD: its page says sales start soon. Kolb sells at the kiosk and online as each timetable goes live, and online calendars fill in as the operators load dates.

KD's Cochem page currently reads "Currently unavailable for booking" and points to its newsletter. Kolb sells through its kiosks on the Moselpromenade and ticket-regional.de, and in 2026 put the timetable up as a PDF on each trip page.

Our advice: you do not need to book a one-hour loop ahead outside festival weekends. Walk up, compare the two piers, pick the next boat. Book the lock cruise or a wine day ahead if your date is fixed, a Saturday, or in August and September. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before means an early booking costs you nothing if plans move.

Which months are best for a Cochem boat trip in 2027?

May to September for the full timetable and the long day trips. Late August for the town wine festival. Early October for quieter boats before KD stops on 17 October.

From May every boat runs daily. June to September adds Kolb's day trip to Traben-Trarbach, about four hours each way. Kolb's Cochem to Koblenz day trip did not run in 2026, so don't count on it for 2027 either. Late August is festival time: the town's wine festival takes the last weekend, with fireworks over the river (our festival post has the details).

October is our pick for light and colour on the slopes, with fewer people on deck. Just remember KD's last day is 17 October 2027, and Mondays are thin: KD does not sail, and one of the Beilstein return boats skips Mondays.

What could still change before the 2027 season?

Kolb's dates and fares, KD's final prices, and on the day itself, high water.

Until Kolb posts its 2027 timetable, everything we say about its season is a pattern, not a fact. Prices can move between the end of one season and the start of the next. The Moselle also rises after heavy rain. KD points passengers to its service updates for cancellations, and Kolb's kiosk knows on the morning.
